Former U.S. Defense Secretary Commends Roosevelt Students on North Korea Research

It just so happened that two recent claims by North Korea regarding nuclear weaponry have coincided with related topics in Roosevelt Middle School teacher Peter Knutson’s eighth-grade science class. Most recently, garnering a response from former United States Secretary of Defense William J. Perry.

6th Grade Orientation Nights

6th Grade Orientation Nights: The schedule is as follows:

• Thursday April 7: from 7:00-8:30 pm. Students and parents from Carver, Eisenhower, Hoover, Fulton, Sageville, Audubon, and Prescott should attend.

• Tuesday April 12, 2016from 7:00-8:30 pm. Students and parents from Kennedy, Lincoln, Table Mound, Bryant, Irving and Marshall should attend.

Parochial school students who live in the Roosevelt district and will attend Roosevelt next year may attend either night. Parents of students coming from parochial schools should also contact the Guidance Office at 552-5013.

‘School Speak’ to Discuss District Finances and Teacher Leadership, Dec. 19

The Dubuque Community School District will host a “School Speak” event at 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, at the district’s administrative offices at 2300 Chaney Road.

The forum, designed to provide additional opportunities for conversation between administrators and community members, will include short presentations on district finances and the district’s teacher leadership initiatives.

 FAME audition workshops are on Dec. 10 during 8th period and after school for 30 minutes in rm 165. The auditions will be:
8th grade Dec. 15
7th grade Dec. 16
6th grade Dec.17

All workshops are from 2:30 – 4:00 in room 165. This info is on the FAME bulletin board for students.
